RED – The Digital Cinema Camera company created a wave few days back with the announcement of their first smartphone. In fact it’s not just another android smart phone, it’s ‘The World’s First Holographic Media Machine’. Hydrogen One will be the first of it’s kind smartphone 3D viewing experience without the need for glasses.
The Hydrogen One will run on Android OS and features a 5.7 inch ‘holographic’ display that eliminates the requirement of VR glasses when viewing multi-dimensional content. This incredible retina riveting display advancement features nano technology that seamlessly switches between traditional 2D content, 3D content and interactive games supported both in landscape and portrait modes.
Embedded in the OS is a proprietary H3O algorithm that converts stereo sound into expansive multi-dimensional audio. Think 5.1 on your headphones… The Hydrogen System incorporates a new high speed data bus to enable a comprehensive and ever expanding modular component system, which will include future attachments for shooting higher quality motion and still images as well as Hydrogen format holographic images.
RED’s revealed only a single shadowy image of the Hydrogen One (shown above). Here’s what the same image looks like with some shadow lift:
The device will be the control center for RED digital cinema cameras working as a user interface and a monitor. The Hydrogen One will be shipped with a USB-C cable and a charger and there is a scope for future memory expansion with a micro-SD card slot. All other accessories introduced during launch will be available at an additional price and additional modules will not be immediately available at the time of its first production launch.
