After a bunch of teasing and specs leak from last week, finally the Cheaper Full-Frame DSLR for Enthusiast just released today !! The Canon 6D Mark II will be the new entry level full frame Canon DSLR which will bridge the gap between crop sensor DSLRs and high end professional full frame cameras.
Canon says the new camera “is ideal for budding photographers looking to take their creative DSLR photography skills to the next level by shooting with a Full-frame CMOS sensor DSLR camera to capture beautiful high-quality portraits and striking landscapes, even in low-light situations.”
Disappointingly there is no 4K video update in this release but Canon has cleverly incorporated a 4K Time-lapse mode. The maximum video recording capability is 1080p @ 60fps. There is also a HDR video mode which would improve the details in the video.
Here’s the Canon USA website where you will find more detailed information about the camera.
Highlight of the new 6D Mark II is the new 26.2-megapixel, full-frame CMOS sensor (20.2MP in the original 6D) combined with a DIGIC 7 Image Processor. The sensor boasts an ISO range of 100 to 40000 (upto 25600 in the predeccesor) and a burst rate up to 6.5fps (up from 4.5fps in the original 6D).
