How To: Enable Dehaze Feature in Photoshop CS6

Dehaze is an impressive fog and haze eliminating feature that Adobe released to Creative Cloud users back in 2015. Whilst the feature is not visible in CS6, it is still available and can be applied natively using a trick. Here’s how.

Since Dehaze feature is only available to CC subscribers, Dave Cross has developed some cool free presets that will “fool” the Camera Raw into applying Dehaze in Photoshop CS6. You can download these presets and can be loaded into Camera Raw that give you the ability to apply Dehaze to your images.

Cross says that he created these to help out CS6 users who want to take advantage of Dehaze, but provide only basic, limited instructions and no tech support.

How To simulate Dehaze in Photoshop CS6/Camera Raw:

  1. Download the Presets from Cross’s Website. Click the “Enroll in Course” button to create a log-in account and download the presets. Use the code “freepresets” to get the presets for free.
  2. Quit Photoshop and Camera Ra.
  3. Unzip the folder of preset.
  4. For Mac: Copy all the presets into this location: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings
For Windows: Copy all the presets into this location: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings
  5. Now open a Raw file in Camera Raw, go to the Presets tab and you should see the list of presets.

There are different presets for the amount of dehaze which run in increment of 5 from -100. There are also presets for negative Dehaze to add haze into your photo.
